Why is it important to have 8 hours sleep? Explanation

Why is it important to get 8 hours of sleep every night?
We need 8 hours of sleep so that we can recover from the previous day. You might feel that your brain and body needs to rest. One of the ways sleep can help you is by growing higher than your height, get fit and feeling fresh for the next day to come. If you're not getting the right hours of sleep it will mean that your health is going low than before. Without sleep it can increase your hunger in the morning and that can be a effect because you're gaining more weight just because you’re not getting 8 hours of sleep. After, 8 hours of sleep you will feel more refreshed and ready for the next day.

How to get more sleep?
You can schedule a time every night to the morning. A know fact is that the time you sleep at is the time you’re likely to wake up at, perhaps sleeping at 8.00 and then you’ll find yourself waking up at 8.00 am. If you’re busy trying to get some sleep after 15-20 minutes get up and do something like listen to music and that will probably make you fall asleep.

Do dreams come true? And what are the purpose of them?
Every night, every morning or even every evening we might go sleep and wake up from a shocking dream or a wonderful and peaceful dream. Every dream you might have has a purpose for e.g if it was about killing, it would mean that you're eager to kill an enemy. There could be good purposes of dreaming too you can imagine yourself singing on a stage going on tour and singing Beyonce or whoever is popular in mind, those are the dreams that some people might strive to be.

Having 8 hours of sleep is very important it can refresh your body and your attitude the next day to come. Not having 8 hours of sleep can cause you stress, hunger and sleepiness the next morning. You can set a time for yourself to get some rest so that you're ready for tomorrow. Dreams could come true if you work hard on it and be the best person you are.

Powhiri opening🍀

Last week on Thursday Len Brown,Nick Smith and his crew came to Glenbrae School for the ceremony (powhiri) of the opening for a new Glenbrae school’s early childhood centre. The media from the maori television on channel 19 took pictures and videos of the Powhiri also, there were some protesters shouting out to Nick Smith that they want their homes back permanently.

It began with a prayer from Matua Jim, then followed by was Afe one of the members of the board of trustees doing a speech. Afterwards Len Brown the mayor of Auckland,New Zealand did a speech and then ending with a song called Te Aroha, well I could say he does have a nice voice for his age. After all the speeches that said during the Powhiri we all went to the front of the school and dug the first hole of making the new early childhood centre.

It would have been perfect but the protesters outside the school gate were really disturbing and loud. The whole Powhiri finished off with a prayer outside and everybody were filled with joy in their hearts, because their younger siblings can go to Glenbrae School now.

My Matariki Poem

Pre-schoolers flying kites
While elders grabbing out their insightful telescopes
beginning to navigate
Everyone looking at a thousand
flashlights
twitching on and off
becoming bigger
smelling like smoked tender cooked meat
with a touch of premium orange juice
bursting in your mouth exploding
Everybody gazing at the,
bright lighted stars
From here it looks so far
People shivering in the cold crispy
air
I guess it’s time to crunch on a
pear

❂-My Long Trip

On Monday morning  Rooms 9 and 10 had a very long bus ride to Long Bay to North Shore. The purpose of going there was because we are learning about tiny little water fish species. We had 3 different activities to learn about 1st exploring the rocky shores, 2nd was collecting things from the high tide and our last activity was learning about identifying biodiversity species from the beach. Once we took one step out of the bus it was stone cold shivering, feeling the wind pushing against you, it nearly felt like we were at the North Pole.

Everyone settled down under the shelter and had a 10 min break before we started. After a short while we went out to the beach crossed a little stream and talked about how  we can save the pollution from going out to sea. So then we suggested that we needed to stop polluting out to the sea and put it into the right place, THE BIN. We got 1 tray each for 4 groups and had to fill in water half way and collect anything that we’d find inside the rocky shores. My group found numerous sea snails. The most interesting specie for me that I learnt about was the Sea anemone because it’s touch is so slimy, slick and felt like jelly. I wish I would've seen it under water so that I can it’s red or blue tentacles flash out. The other specie that I was curious about was the different kinds of starfish. Sarah our tour guide taught us a trick to identify starfish is to gently slide your hand around the rocky pool. Luckily I saw one but it wasn't from my group.
Our second activity was collecting items from the high tide area into a bucket. There were different kind of things out on the high tide like dead black seaweed beautiful shells. Another thing that we discovered was different sized sand hoppers. They would usually hide under the dead seaweed because if they dry up from the sun they would eventually die. After we walked along the beach we found one jelly fish, big and fat, that was alive. Soon after it was time to move onto our next activity which was to sort out the classification of the the things that we removed from the high tide.

We had to sort out where a sea snail was from which was a Gastropoda, after was the sort of starfish we gathered from the rock shores and that was from asteroidea and we also learnt about other classification for other species. We also had to form our bodies into the way of a starfish and a shell like paua because a paua has two shells connected to it so that it could stay closed. It was really fun and hilarious because the team next to us were a bit struggling to put there own legs up, I think because my group was more muscular.

From this trip to Long Bay I learnt a lot of information about the rocky shore and the life of the marine reserve. I hope to go there again and then learn more information about the marine species.

Plan& Prepare for a Bush walk

d.any other special features including a picture of the track to accompany it.

When you go on a Bush walk and on a really long bush walk you’ll have to be aware of the weather conditions and getting prepared.Just in case you get lost and can’t find your way back keep a friend updated about where and when your walking. It would be good to wear some good casual hiking shoes to wear when you go. If your gonna spend a night in the bush it would be a good idea to learn how to start a fire to keep yourself warm, and also keep a first aid kit packed in you bag. Keep your backpack as light as possible so it won’t stop you from walking to the destination. Walking on a nice and steady paste would be good and would save a lot of energy for later. Also keep a snack for later before you go starving hungry  on the way back home.

Water Fun Day

“Wow GLenbrae School is having a Water Fun Day” Water Fun day is something GLenbrae School does every year. The students at Glenbrae competes in there house colours are Rata,Kowhai,Kauri and Nikau. We have to wear our house colours clothes so that we can get points even before the activities even started. We started in our classes and that was alright. Water Fun Day is an whole morning block of squirting water everywhere. Once the whistle blew it’s time to begin.

First activity for us was a obstacle race you’d have to get a cup of water from the bucket, then climb under a chair and then sprint to the bin and tip it in. (whistle blows) Children from Kauri screaming out “GO COME ON SPRINT” it was like being at a rugby game with Sonny Bill William in the crowd/ I ran to the bucket and crouched down on the grass and maybe tipped some water when I was running to the bin, I took a little peak in the other bins and my colour Kauri was in the lead. We all had a few turns and then the whistle blew.

Water fun day was fun and cheerful. It was cool at the end because the teacher who organised it got a bucket of water tipped on her clothes. Afterwards she went to her class and was shivering cold. It was an exciting activity to start of 2014 at school.

✝Dance Fever✝

This morning at school we had another session of Dance Fever. We sort of began late about 10 past 9 it was alright I mean I didn’t mind. When we got there to the hall we straight away got with our partners and began with our foxtrot. We went over it again just to see is we still remembered it from last week. This morning was pouring rain maybe that’s why our instructor’s came late or maybe there was traffic that’s something I need to find out.

After learning the Foxtrot we began with our chacha it was easy but the one thing that the teachers complained about was the lack of how we're dancing. So after that we straightened our arms and our neck also our legs not long ago we were perfect. After that we were straight into the hip hop dance because they thought we already knew all the moves. Afterwards we had a little fun and did the gangnam dance. It was like very fun everyone was pumping everywhere with there own weird moves. Later the class next already arrived and so that was the last of Dance Fever.

Persuasive Writing on Charity Fundraise

Have you considered yourself trapped in the hospital with cancer? Just to begin with there are adults and children that are suffering because of cancer. However, not all cancer diseases are contagious so that’s quite good news. Leukemia is the type of cancer that is in your bone and blood. For example, Leukemia would come to you body randomly so it’s not contagious. There are over 200 types of cancer that are in the world, In fact, there is over 12,000,000 people that are diagnosed with cancer each year. I believe that participating into doing charity work is helping the cancered patients.

Keeping Clean

We should keep clean just to be careful from diseases and always make sure we stick to the 20 second hand wash. It is actually saving your life to be washing your hands and also using hand sanitizer. Keep clean and stick to the 20 second hand wash.

Fear of Death

First of all, many kids are aware of dying in early age because of cancer. All around the world 108 life’s are gone and vanished to the graveyard in every 60 seconds. And I found this information from the internet, so It could be true or false.

╚> Donate and Fundraise
We should encourage people to do some fundraising and also do a lot of donating. Many kids and adults out there suffering just because of cancer. In fact it would be so generous if you could donate or even fundraise a bit money for cancered kids and adults.

I think keeping clean and donating treasure’s of our own would be a huge difference to our life. I believe that people around the world should take a stand and encourage non-cancered people to donate things to the sick and unwell kids and adults. Not helping is just too mean so I would just suggest to you all to help the cancered  people. Sometimes we will need to donate something for people who can’t really get. Which I would want to tell the world about.Thank you for listening. :)

It was similar like playing with a hanky sack except using a soccer ball. It was very hard for me but as for my partner was beating me by miles. Then we got organized into 2 groups that played each other by playing soccer. It was a fair game but the opponent were just to hard to handle. The game was 1 all and was a fair game but then the game was over.

Tonga Vs Samoa

Wow what a game! It was very challenging for Samoa trying to get across the field and get a stunning try. At the first half Tonga was very quick and exceptional getting those tries. Suddenly number 5 playing for Samoa lights up the team and wins a try. Although both teams did fabulous work Tonga scored 36 and Samoa scoring 4 so that makes it a win win for Tonga. Good game!

Shocking a university student and his own brother were the cause of the big bombing in Boston, during a marathon. The question is why would they cause this massive explosion ? Helicopters were flying everywhere but not beyond 900 metres. Many people quickly evacuated from Boston after the explosion. The medical crew zoomed to a football field and were nursing the people in need. God Bless people in Boston.
